ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club will open their 2018-19 home schedule this Monday, Oct. 8 at Honda Center versus the Detroit Red Wings (7 p.m.) in a rematch of Anaheim’s inaugural game on the same date in 1993. The Ducks 25th Anniversary Season is presented by UCI Health. Ducks fans are encouraged to arrive early for the Anaheim Ducks Red Carpet Player Arrival presented by TCL®, America’s fastest-growing TV brand, beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Honda Center’s south side. TCL’s give back initiative, TCL Cares, will work with the Anaheim Ducks Foundation to help support the communities they serve, as both organizations are committed to find ways to make a positive impact. The Anaheim Ducks will be presenting a check donation to the Emilio Nares Foundation (ENF), an organization that helps underserved families navigate their child’s journey with cancer and has been supported by TCL North America as the group expands its reach from San Diego to Orange County. The event will be hosted by FOX Sports broadcaster Kent French who will interview players prior to them walking the red carpet and greeting fans. The honor is earned by a Ducks fan who embodies characteristics such as great perseverance, character, courage and inspiration who is making significant contributions to our community. This year’s 21st Duck, Michael Lu, will also walk the red carpet alongside the 2018-19 Ducks roster.
