(Corona, CA) November 10, 2014- TCL (The Creative Life), one of the largest consumer electronics and major appliance brands in the world, announced the completion of phase one of the TCL Heifei White Goods Factory. Completion of the first phase will allow TCL to produce nearly 3 million refrigerators and washing machines in 2015.  When the factory is complete in 2017, it will be able to produce 8 million appliances annually. This new appliance factory will allow TCL to expand their distribution as well as meet the rising worldwide demand for white goods.

“TCL continues its commitment to invest in increasing its capacity and technology to utilize their scale, efficiency, and vertical integration to provide consumers with the latest technology at great value across all product categories,” said Mr.Li Dongsheng, the Chairman and CEO of TCL Corporation. “TCL has seen major growth in white goods and this will allow the brand to keep up with this demand and also enter new markets, including North America.”

With the solid growth of the TCL television brand in the US currently underway, TCL is reviewing plans to bring home appliances to the US market in the next few years.  “As we continue to invest in the TCL brand, it only makes sense to support additional categories under this marketing umbrella,” says Chris Larson, VP of Sales and Marketing at TCL North America.  “You will see the TCL brand offered anywhere we can use our manufacturing abilities to offer world-class product innovation with a value that appeals to the American consumer.”

The TCL Heifei Factory will take approximately three more years to complete at a total cost of $1.15 Billion dollars. Upon completion, the TCL Heifei Factory will be the largest appliance factory in Asia and feature advanced technology, including a fully automated production line. The Heifei factory adds to TCL’s manufacturing strength, which includes the world’s largest LCD panel factory, China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT).
